I spent 8 years of my life working in White Oaks Mall. I can truthfully say that Steve (and Rusty) were my absolute without a doubt favourite thing about working there. I was fortunate enough that they chose me one day and they would visit me nearly every shift. No matter which store I was working in.
I'll never forget the day I was working alone and Steve was waiting patiently for me to finish dealing with my line of customers. Once they were all done he came up to me all sheepishly and told me he had brought me a gift!
He brought me a mini stick and the London Knights schedule magnet for that year and said " I brought you this because I know you love hockey and hockey makes you happy and I want you happy"
Forever selfless and full of love and smiles.
I will never forget the love and joy he brought me with every visit.
Living in the whiteoaks area, I still bumped into him and Rusty from time to time as well as at any knights game I've attended. Every single time I see them I'm not sure who's more excited to see who!
I'm so glad I had thought to snap a photo with "my boys" when I ran into them back in January. Had I have known it would be my final time seeing Steve, I would have made my hug last a little longer.
Rest in peace my sweet Steve. Thank you for choosing me to be your friend. I'll never forget the love and joy you've brought me and countless others during the years. ❤️
