Obituary of Peter David Smith

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Peter David Smith of London at University Hospital on June 1, 2024, at the age of 63. Peter was a devoted and loving husband to Jessica and father to Charlie and Jacey. Predeceased by loving parents, Paul and Donna Smith. Survived by siblings, Deborah McMillan (Harvie), Paul H., and Daniel (Glenda). Also sharing in our grief are his dear nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. As a multi-generation Smith in the Covent Garden Market dating back to the mid-1800s, Peter reminisced about his years as the owner of Paul Smith and Sons Deli, and later, The Piazza in the Market Tower. He shared many stories of good times and antics with his loyal employees and fond memories of his valued customers. Peter joined the London Police Service in 2000 and was remembered for his dedication, easygoing nature, dry wit, and ability to connect with others. He will be missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. Special thanks to the dedicated doctors, nurses and support staff who worked tirelessly to provide kindness, dignity and compassionate care for our dear Peter.
