I had the pleasure of knowing Wayne both professionally and personally for over 30 years. His work with the Family Court Clinic, crafting reports on youth in conflict with the law was exemplary. My clients recognized his interest in them, his concerns, his humanity. As such they normally welcomed his suggestions. I also knew Wayne due to his love of cycling. We had many conversations about various "Tours", who was a favourite, if there were any promising Cdns. I loved hearing about his annual cycling trips to Europe. He was truly a renaissance man and will be missed by so many! Richard Braiden

I met Wayne walking to work. My office was around the corner from the family court clinic, and our meetings were random and always interesting! Our most recent meeting was when I was meeting for the first time a lovely and also very interesting woman waiting in line to buy bread from Seth. It was a long line, so we had a long time to talk. When Wayne came up to join us, I learned that I had met his wife! My recollection is he was wearing a very colourful hat he had liberated from a lost status . I am so sorry that we will have no more spontaneous intersections. The world has lost a lovely man. Gail, Ian so sorry for your loss. Sue Carlyle

Wayne’s Family
I was very saddened to hear of Wayne’s death. I have been a social worker in London for many years and Wayne and I crossed paths professionally many times over those years. Although we didn’t hang around together we always welcomed running into each other. I most definitely concur with all that was said in his obit. He was all that and then some. I remember Wayne as soft spoken very bright and so caring and enthused about his passion for his work caring for youth. We also shared our joy of running
He will be missed
Sincerely
Tom Massel

Wayne was that truly extraordinary guy. When he came into family court, the air crackled with his enthusiasm, his eloquence, and his assessment. He cared so passionately for the state of his clients and meticulously assessed all that they had going for, and against them. He was a true officer of the courts.
On the street, our conversations were always interesting, I dare say "obtuse" and usually finished with a story about the spas of Budapest.
Wayne, I enjoyed your uniqueness and your humanity.I will miss you.
