Obituary of Ian Godfrey Rowland

Ian Rowland passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, October 14, 2024, in his 84th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia (Green) and survived by his loving daughter Jennifer Rowland-Rush, son-in-law Jon Rush, and his two treasured grandchildren Christopher and Andrew. Ian was an avid movie collector and a lover of great films. He enjoyed collecting stamps and autographs of many classic film actors and composers. He even met a few in person during his time spent working as a projectionist in London, England in the 1960’s. He was often seen driving his white Mercedes Benz, proudly driving his daughter on her wedding day. Above all, he cherished his family, and he will be missed deeply. Per Ian’s wishes, there will be no memorial service and donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated in its place. “Never forget, in a pinch” – The Bat He loved when I played Beethoven on the piano. The most generous, kind loving person ever. Always offering help with anything at any time. He parted too early from us. I miss him dearly. – Andrew Papa was the most dedicated man to his family, always putting us first. It was always a joy to be around him, I loved his sense of humor, he knew how to make me laugh, and at the best times. I will miss the generous, caring and also easy-going grandfather I grew up with. I’ll be keeping an eye out to decide in a pinch or not Papa. Never forget: Bang! At you know who. “That’s just life” Goodbye “old chum”. – Christopher You will be missed Ian. Your sense of humor and appreciation for your family, your helping hand, kindness, encouragement and, of course, graciously accepting me as your son-in-law. - Jon Dad, with tears streaming, I have to say how honored I am to have had you as my dad. I really don’t have the right words. Always ALWAYS there for me, so kind, so understanding, never judged, so supportive, so generous. Be with mom, dad, be at peace, finally, it’s what you have always deserved. I do take some comfort knowing that. I miss you so much and loved you even more. Your loving daughter, Jen. And, no, you were never a bother. NEVER. So proud to be your daughter.
