I had the privilege of working with Emmet for a year in CID in the early 90's. His work ethic was outstanding and he was a great partner to work with. I learned through his example as he set aside his own time to reach out into the community to help others, Whether it was in wheelchair basketball, giving his blood and plasma and of his many other unique ways of giving selflessly to his community. His devotion to policing and his family and his community set a very high watermark.
To Joan and family, we are praying and thinking of you in these days of loss and grief. Know Emmet will not be forgotten!

Dear Joan and family, Leslie and I want to offer our sincere and heartfelt condolences. Emmet was a one of a kind man whose laugh and enthusiasm was so contagious. Working with Emmet at the LPS was such a pleasure. First to work and last to leave with a work ethic that few could rival! We will cherish his memory and celebrate a life well lived!!! My deepest condolences to Joan and family on the recent passing of Emmet. Emmet and I joined the Apprentice Soldier Academy in Montreal in 1964. Upon graduation in 1966, several of us, including Emmet and myself, were posted to CFB Petawawa. Approximately 45 of us started Apprentices together, half graduated and half have passed. We all remember each other as brothers.
Always a brother.

Emmett always made me smile when he walked in the room, because he was always smiling. When Emmett was there beside you on a call or in a situation where you needed some guidance, you always felt comfortable with the direction he would suggest. Enjoy the well-deserved rest Emmett, and say hi to dad for me. He goes by Bill or Billy. You two will get along great.

Emmett was the quintessential cheerleader of life. He led others by setting the example of love of God, love of family and friends and love of life. Even as his battle progressed he continued to have a positive attitude and ensured to bring joy to those around him, with kind words and gestures.
A good friend.

I met Emmett in September 1964 when we both started our careers in the Army ( RCOC ATC ) at 6560 Hochelaga Street Montreal. Special training for 2 years ( half day Military, Half day Academic ). After 2 years we were posted, Emmitt went to Petawawa, I went to Calgary. We did not see each other til a few years ago. Emmitt will always be my Brother ( march to the beat of the Village Blacksmith and we will meet again )

I have one more note to add to what I have passed on to the family of this fine man! He must have loved himself and God so much because he was the most generous and kind man I have ever met! He rescued my dear wife many times when she fell in our house, he instantly dropped whatever he was doing and came to our aid! I can't recall how many times we had long conversations about life and to top it off he always waved at whoever passed his way sharing his caring ways all the time! His love of country land his job was very evident, and I know how much he loved his Joanie -Babe and his family! HE WAS JUST THE GREATEST MAN I HAVE HAD THE PRIVILAGE OF KNOWING!
