Obituary of Robert Dorcey Conlin

Robert” Rob” Conlin passed away on July 7th 2024, at LHSC, London , Ontario, in his 78th year. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years was met with strength, stubbornness & courage as well as a laugh & a story to share. His personality & intelligence charmed those he encountered along his journey & he truly cared for those he met along the way. Cherished son of the late Dorothy & Dorcey Conlin of London, On. Beloved brother of Patricia (Conlin) & her husband James Breen. Generous & loving uncle of Christopher (Karen) Stinnissen of Lac La Biche, Alberta & Katie Stinnissen of London, Ontario. Proud Great Uncle to Lilyanna, Owen, Alexander & Dylan Stinnissen. Rob was Born in Hamilton, & raised in London where he attended Sir Adam Beck S.S., Clarke Road S.S., Huron University. He completed his Commerce degree at the University of Calgary. His career in Finance took him to Winnipeg with Great West Life, and Calgary as City Treasurer. He then joined Bow Valley Industries as Director of Treasury Operations and travelled widely for the company. Rob really enjoyed travelling, skiing, golfing & theatre. He keenly watched sports on television & never missed the Olympics. He loved to read & also wrote fiction. He loved music & movies both new & old across many genres. Passionate about dogs, he had one most of his life as well as cats. His final adored companion Brownie, has been lovingly adopted to a wonderful, caring new forever home; an outcome Rob was greatly comforted by. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family & friends will be held at a later date in celebration of Rob’s life.
