Obituary of Mark Carroll

Mark (Frederick) Carroll passed away peacefully on July 2nd, 2024, at Parkwood Hospital's Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by loved ones. He was in his 73rd year. Mark was comforted by his wife Donna (nee Anderson), his son Derek Carroll (Michael MacFarlane) both holding his hand, with his daughter Dawn Carroll (Steven Young), with his grandchildren James, Marcus, and Charlotte in his heart. "Coming Home" by Roy Orbison, his favorite artist, and Johnny Cash played softly during his final moments. Mark devoted 44 years of dedicated service to Canada Post, where he was cherished by colleagues like his best friends at work Bruce & Brigette, and customers alike. He took exceptional care of those on his mail routes, leaving a lasting impact on all he encountered. Mark is survived by his brothers Michael (Deb), Bobby (Elaine), and Johnny, and his sisters Paulette (Gary), Chris (late Lloyd, 2001), and Gloria (Dave). He was predeceased by his father Frederick Myron Carroll (1983), his mother Joan Marie Carroll (nee English) (2006), his baby brother Leo Carroll (2018), and his niece Tammy (2017), daughter of Johnny. A celebration of Mark's life will be held on July 31st from 11:00am to 1:00pm at RCL Byron Springbank, 1276 Commissioners Road W, London, Ontario. Parking is available at the adjacent Metro, and alcohol will be served on the first floor in the club room. Please consider raising a glass of Crown Royale in Mark's honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Joseph’s Hospital Parkwood Institute Palliative Care Unit, Parkwood Daycare Unit, Veterans Unit, or a charity of your choice in Mark’s memory. Private services and interment will take place at a later time.
