Obituary of Peggy Anne Burns
Peggy Burns (Johnston) passed away peacefully at McGarrell Place in London Ontario on Monday May 13. Her immediate family were able to be by her side for her last few days.
Peggy was born on November 24, 1934, in Hilden, Nova Scotia. She is survived by her husband and soul mate Alec Burns. Peggy was the proud mother of Sean (Lynda), Tim (Lisa) and Wendy. Loved grandmother of Kathryn, Alison, Aaron, Ryan and Megan. Great grandmother to Owen and Finn.
Peggy was the only daughter of Clarence and Aileen Johnston, and sister to Keith (deceased), Neil (deceased), Clyde (deceased) and Brian (Millee).
Peggy grew up on her parent's farm in Nova Scotia. She taught school in Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Ottawa (where she met the love of her life). She also taught at the Belleville School for the Deaf. Peggy was always involved in her community church, and loved ice skating, bridge, travelling, gardening, and sailing at her Inverhuron cottage. She will be missed most of all for her sense of humour, joking, and love of laughter.
Cremation has already taken place, and a Funeral will be held at Oakridge Presbyterian Church in London on Thursday May 30. A visitation will take place from 1:00 pm until the funeral at 2:00 pm.
