Obituary of Wallace Lawrence Dowden

Wallace Lawrence Dowden 1927 - 2024 Wally Dowden passed away peacefully at him home in his 98th year, on April 21, 2024. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Marg and Marilyn. Left to mourn are his daughter, Elizabeth Ellen Hall (Dowden) & Robert, and his grandsons Eric (Jolene), Adam (Janice), and Michael and his much loved great grandchildren Morgan, Brenna, Aiva, Austin, and Blake. Born in Brantford, he moved to London in 1952 with 3M, and worked with 3M for 43 years as a Supervisor in Engineering. Wally was a volunteer at Children’s Hospital in London for over 10 years and a charter member of The Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, London Chapter, and past President. Wally is predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth (Betty) Dowden and his daughters Mary and Sheri. Also predeceased by his siblings and their spouses Doreen (Art) Phyllis (Alex), Fern (Joan), Sidney (Josephine), Walt, Aubin, Jerry, Dorothy (Ross), and Don (Gail). Wally leaves many nieces and nephews. Wally loved visiting with people, playing horseshoes and fishing, while spending time at his cottage in Turkey Point with Betty and family.
