Obituary of Harold Henry Mauthe

Harold Henry Mauthe March 10, 1933 – February 21, 2024 Peacefully passed away surrounded by family at Maple Manor Nursing home on Wednesday February 21, 2024 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Doris Mauthe (Kirkland) for 65 years. Dear father of Paul (Cindy) Mauthe, Kim (Jack) McDonald and Phil (Maria) Pearce. Loving Grandfather of Kyle (Leigh-Anne) Mauthe, Kaitlyn (Derek) Buchner, Sean (Ria) McDonald, Colin (Tiffany) McDonald, Tobi (Dan) Pearce, Cody Tyson Pearce and Casey Tyson Pearce. Adoring great grandfather to Aubrey, Julia and Isabelle, Blaire and Warren, Harper, Tyree and Victoria. Step great grandfather to Jackson and Lily. Brother of Cliff (late Ilene), Shirley Robinson and Ruth (Walt) Mason. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his much loved great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Beau and Wyatt, daughter in law Laura Tyson, his parents, Henry and Vera (Pettit) Mauthe, sister and brother in law June and Don Waldick, brother Hugh Mauthe, sisters and brothers in law Doreen and Homer Cummings, Gord and Marj Kirkland and special nieces Lori Gallant and Pamela Mason. Harold was a born farmer. He and Doris farmed tobacco for over 20 years in the surrounding area, buying their own farm, Golden Acres, in 1972. Even after he retired in 1981, he spent nearly every day at the farm. His love of family was very strong and he loved spending time with them all celebrating many family events and outings. His great grandbabies were the apples of his eye. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 60 Young St. Tillsonburg, on Tuesday February 27th at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with inurnment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Rhineland, immediately following. Reception to follow.
