Very annoying and sad news…..I just learnt about this today when I received a call from the clinic.
I knew Dr. Brown 3 years back as he was my cardiologist. What a gentleman…..full of energy and hope. His sense of humour was very noticeable to all. May his soul rests in peace….you will be missed.
Ziad Kablawi.

Very sorry to hear about Bob’s death. My parents were close friends and colleagues and I grew up with Bob in Toronto and was fortunate to meet Bob and his lovely family on visits to Vancouver. A lovely guy and a proud father. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Judy and Family.
I have just been informed of Bob's passing and have read with warm interest his beautiful obituary and life story.
I wish to extend my condolences.
I have visualized his and your life at Bridgewood and gain comfort in knowing that the cottage wrapped around him to give support and calm.
My late partner and I purchased the cottage in 2000 to also be surrounded and embraced by its warmth.
I hope to see you one day in the future Judy.
With Sincerity and Hugs.

Dr. Brown was such a personable and friendly guy and all of us MOA's loved him. He was just a cool dude! He used to come upstairs to talk to my boss, Dr. Aminbakhsh, as we were in the same building. Dr. Brown would ALWAYS take the time to stop to talk to Lynn (Dr. Epstein's MOA) and I when he came in. Most of the time he had us laughing our heads off. He had so many stories and was such a people person. One time I remember he started talking about hotdogs and it was clear that he was very serious about his hotdogs. He thought it was sacrilegious to put all these crazy toppings on them and he declared that only mustard should be on a hotdog! It was so funny listening to him go on and saying you can't put seaweed or cheese or etc... on a hotdog! He was so animated and he had us roaring! He was such a busy busy doctor, but he always made time for everyone. I have not and will never forget him. I love the picture of him and the words written are so beautiful! My heart hurts for his family and I send my deepest condolences.

As an Anesthesiologist at the Royal Columbian I occasionally had to beg for help from the cardiology crew. Bob would 'stump' into the PACU (I don't recall it ever being a 'stroll', but rather he would come in like a small tank), find the index patient, and give clear and concise advice. I think he was happiest in the Cath Lab but he gave great help to us everywhere. RIP Bob.

It's hard to believe Bob is gone as we had such amazing adventures together and with our families for over 20 years. He had such wonderful attributes of care and compassion combined with a great sense of humour and a zest for life. The epitomy of a family man and so dedicated to his profession. Judy picked the best picture possible that I and my boys will cherish forever. My condolences to Judy, Clay, Sam, and Mitch and all the Browns. We have all lost an incredible, irreplaceable friend, father, partner, doctor.

My deepest sympathy to Judy and all the family. When Bob first came to the RCH, he came to stay at our farm. He reminded me in a phone conversation this summer, that he was greeted by one of our old English mastiffs at his small car window. I am sorry that Tom is not here to share in these condolances. Judy, wishing you strength and joy in happy memories that you made together.

As a young nurse at TGH I remember Dr. Ken Brown regaling at the nurses' station on 5W of his weekend spent in London at his son's graduation from medical school. A few years later when I started at Victoria Hospital in London, here was the errant son, Bob! So glad to have known these exceptional cardiologists, and, the set up with Judy worked out very well. Respectful condolences to the family.

Bob, Brownie, RIG was a prince of a man, larger than life with his hearty laugh, a gentle giant if a patient needed support, a wise and thoughtful doctor, a great partner . We spent 4 great years together pioneering interventional devices ,rational atherectomy , lasers in the treatment of heart disease in London Ontario . But more than that Bob introduced me to Canada, to Red Circle Hockey, to Armagnac and to how to embrace life at every turn. He left a lasting impression on patients and colleagues and his memory will always be for a blessing. Ian and Sandy Penn,

Bob and I worked in the Cath lab at the Royal Columbian Hospital and over the years I too came to know him well. It was a pleasure to learn about stent preparation and insertion in those early days of “stenting” from Bob and his deep first hand knowledge of stent design was a gift to the profession. For many challenging cases that needed a fellow cardiologist to confer with, Bob was there to give a thoughtful opinion. His generosity was noted by all. What a wonderful person to know and call a colleague and a friend. Bob, you will be missed by many but also remembered warmly. Deepest condolences to Judy and the entire family. Akbar Lalani (RCH cardiologist).

Worked with Dr RIGB for over 10 years at the RCH Cardiac Cath Lab. One memory of him was how supportive he was of me becoming the first Nurse Manager of the Lab. He taught me so much about strategy and getting along with what he called “ the dark side of health care” Administration. Further, I will always remember Bob as putting his patients at the center of his care, by his warm way of engaging each and every patient he cared for. On Fridays, you could pretty much be assured there would be Pizza lunch for the staff, paid for by our Dr Bob. Many thanks for all the good times! Best, Carol

Kind condolences Judy and family during this difficult time. I have fond memories of Bob in the Cath Lab at Vic South St in the early ‘90’s before you went to B.C. and then in the following years when yo7 would come back to London and we would have the golf tournament and BBQ. What a wonderful tribute to a life well lived! May the sorrow of today soon be replaced by the countless happy memories you hold close to your heart!

Bob and I met in the early 1980's and he became our Angioplasty fellow at Toronto General Hospital in 1985. He was a quick learner and went to London to establish an angioplasty program there. His father Ken Brown was one of my mentors. In the early 1990's Bob in his turn taught me how to insert coronary artery stents. Soon after that he came to the Royal Columbian Hospital and we worked together for about 15 years. He was an excellent cardiologist particularly skilled in angioplasty and pacemaker insertion. He supported me through some difficult times and will not be forgotten. My condolences to Judy and the family.

My late husband and I were graciously invited to Bob and Judy’s cottage in Muskoka for many years, where we spent warm days and cool nights enjoying good food, good wine and most of all good company. My favourite memory is a boat ride in the old Muskoka launch at midnight, during a full moon with a couple of glasses of sherry perched on the dashboard. A graceful boat piloted by a steady captain. Thank you Bob.
May the memory of Bob be a blessing to you Judy, and to your family
With love and respect, Marion Knab

While I have been friends with Cameron and Debbie for over 40 years, I really didn't spend a lot of time with "Bobby" as he was living out west for many years, however, through Cameron's stories, I felt like I knew him intimately.
Every time I did see Bobby over the years at family events, he made me feel this way as well - Always interesting and interested and always engaging - the consummate family man, and that's how I will remember him.
Our sincere condolences to the entire Brown family during this difficult time

We have many memories of Bob but one of our favourites was when our two families went fishing at April point and stayed (supposedly at Arnold Schwarzenegger rental cottage) Fishing and surrounded by killer whales . Evenings filled with relaxing conversations, laughs and of course good wine.
But most precious was our time in Muskoka this summer . We will never forget .

What I will remember most about Bob is that he was always kind , a great athlete and very smart. I will also always remember that he had a very dry ,often sarcastic and GREAT sense of humour. He was also a very kind and loving father.
