Obituary of Herman Karl Popp
Herman Karl Popp, aged 92, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023, at Four Counties Hospital in Newbury. He was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of strength and cherished memories.
Born in Germany, Herman immigrated to a new life in 1953. In the 63 years of marriage to his devoted wife Elizabeth, Herman was the loving father to Martin (Karin), Brian, and Caroline. He was also a caring stepfather to Barb (John) and predeceased by Bonnie (2005). Herman was a proud grandfather to Jason, Iain, Victoria, and Aaron, filling their lives with his stories.
Herman dedicated his life to farming, a passion that defined his existence. His hard work and dedication transformed the land he cultivated, leaving an indelible mark on the community he called home. Beyond his love for farming, Herman found joy in the skies, being an avid racing pigeon flyer. His enthusiasm for this unique hobby brought him closer to nature and connected him with kindred spirits who shared his passion.
Cremation has taken place, honoring Herman’s wishes. A private ceremony with family will be held, allowing those closest to him to say their final goodbyes. To celebrate Herman's life, a Celebration of Life will be at a later date, where friends and family will gather to share stories and laughter. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Herman's memory to a charity of your choice.
