By far one of the best dads a kid could have. Never missed a 5 in the morning hockey practice with four kids and then hit the road for a five day sales trip, return and up the next morning for three more straight. He had a raspy sound on tenor sax that would steal the heart of every women wherever he was playing. I remember watching him play vibes on TV as a kid with some of the great names of the past. He loved his family upmost and the best lessons were those that taught us all on how to survive on next to nothing and still find humour enough to get the table laughing in tears. You respected your mother and sister or you had five knuckles through the drywall next to your head while 3 feet off the ground, a lesson all boys need to learn. Countless hours freezing his ass and feet off flooding hockey rinks all winter long for years at 12 midnight and then on the road again in morning. He would squeeze five kids and a dog in a Volkswagen and drive miles so Christmas's could be spent with grandparents. He raised us all up to be what we chose to be with the complete freedom of decision and let us learn the consequences of the poorly chosen. In his last years he drove school bus I'm sure just to see the kids everyday and find the laughter that all kids give us. I know he is at peace with mom and back to a place where the most happiness can be found. All these memories put together over the years will continue on with the stories, laughter and joy as they get get passed on and they will.
