I am very sad to hear of Jan's sudden passing. We were together in high school and have kept in touch ever since, often having lunch together. She truly loved her family and often talked about them as a proud mother/grandmother would, and loved to go to the cottage with family. Just a week ago she texted me that she was headed there for a family gathering and was happy that she had baked her famous butter tarts, and was excited at the thought of seeing family. It seems as if a page of my past has been ripped from my life's book, and she will be missed. Condolences to the whole family....she loved you all.
