Obituary of Louise Rogers
It is with much sadness that the family of Louise Rogers (nee Longeway) announces her passing in her 83rd year. Waiting for her with open arms is her loving husband, Bob (1994).
Louise is survived by her three children Robert (Diana) Rogers Jr.; Carrie (Kevin) Wilbee and Cathy (Michael) Stahr; loving Gramma to Pearen and Mazlynne and Nahanni and Tehya; sister of Tom (Diane) Longeway; Kaye (Harold) Fischer and Darlene Genelza. She was predeceased by her mother Edna, father Jeremiah, husband Robert, brother Dan, brothers-in-law, Cleto Genelza and Sandy Craig and sisters-in-law, Agnes Dorland and Doris Craig.
Those who knew Louise will remember her for her heart of gold and exceptionally kind spirit. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and always welcomed family and friends with a gourmet meal, a marathon scrabble game and incredible hospitality. Louise loved being outdoors biking, walking and hiking. She was an avid member of her local curling clubs.
Our eternal gratitude goes to the staff at the McCormick Home for the love and care they extended to Mom and our family over the past eight years. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the McCormick Home/McCormick Care Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society.
Louise’s funeral will be held at Oakridge Presbyterian Church at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, with visitation taking place one hour prior. A family burial in Bayfield will take place at a later date.
