Obituary of Joyce Starbuck

Joyce Starbuck (Nee Stephenson) October 11,1928 – August 8, 2022 It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful mum on Monday August 8, 2022, in her 94th year at Parkwood Palliative Care. Treasured wife of 65 years to her late husband Vic Starbuck. Incredible mum to Shayna (Ron) and Remily (Rob). Loving grandmother to Ashley, Morgan (Dani) and Molly Jane. Proud great grandmother to Madison and Aiden. Mum and dad immigrated to Canada from England in 1953 and were married the same year. Ma as she was known to all devoted her entire life with unconditional love and selflessness to her family. Ma would often say “How fortunate we are to have each other”. She was a conversationalist with an amazing sense of humour, full of kindness and compassion. A lover of books, music and beautiful lyrics. Words mattered! Over the years Ma contributed to many charities which were very important to her. Without a doubt Ma will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was simply the best! We would like to thank her wonderful friends and neighbours who looked in on her always sparing time for a cup of tea and good conversation. A special thank you to the Jukema’s for being the best neighbours to our parents over the years. An extra special thank you with love to Julia. Thank you to the staff at Parkwood Palliative for their compassionate care of our mum. We envision our parents enjoying a gin & tonic dancing cheek to cheek. Ma.
