I wish to offer my sincerest condolences to Sharon's family and friends.
Sharon and I worked together in the late 1970's and 80's in Public Service, Weldon Library, at the Circulation Desk and in Interlibrary Loans. We also auditioned and joined the London Fanshawe Symphonic Chorus organization. We loved the choral works and the many friends we accumulated. We always 'bumped' into each other and would pick up our conversation where we left off........
Am deeply saddened to learn of Sharon's passing........ she was a wonderful person and will miss her greatly.

I first became friends with Sharon through line dancing at Western Libraries. We were both fairly terrible but had so much fun. From there, we started dancing outside of work, and regularly attended the theatre (especially musicals with kids), improv comedy shows, and choir performances.
Doing the Fringe Festival with Sharon was the best: every year I'd give her my schedule and she'd book us tickets to see shows she'd researched, from British farce to Canadian standup comedy to Argentinian tango. Then we'd walk home together, chatting about the performances, books, our families, and the next office pizza party.
I'm going to miss her very much.

Sharon was a most pleasant and positive student of mine when she attended elementary school in Ethel, Ontario. It was my early years of teaching in the 70's, and I was blessed to be working in a community of hard-working and supportive families just like the Engels. My condolences to the family. Floyd (and Liz) Herman.

Sharon and I worked together, when she came to the Business Library, in 1990. She only stayed a year, but we remained friends, and we continued working together from opposite sides of campus. We spent hours wandering the Sears Outlet store together. Buying things we did not need, and laughing over dozens of meals. She was always great fun. I cannot believe she is gone. We were looking forward to our lives after the pandemic. My sympathies to her family. I shall notice that she is absent from my life, and I will miss her greatly.

Am writing to offer my sincerest condolences to Sharon's family.
My years at Weldon Library, in the Public Service Circulation Desk & Interlibrary Loans Unit of Weldon Library, were spent with Sharon. We moved to our own drummer within the Library system, but always managed to "bump" into each other at the library, theatre or even at a church bazaar! Sharon convinced me to audition and join with her to sing in the London Fanshawe Symphonic Chorus organization and we loved it.
I am completely shocked and deeply saddened by Sharon's passing. Sharon was a true friend, always helpful, considerate and kind. Her spirit will live on in all of us that knew her. May she rest in peace.
"Although it is difficult today to see beyond the sorrow. May looking back in memory help to comfort you tomorrow"
Sincerely, Kathryn Tanswell

Sharon and I worked together in Interlibrary Loan, then I would see her again at Weldon later. She and I were part of the "one o'clock lunch" people, and I always looked forward to her conversations about her family, and her travels, amidst her effort to read at lunch too. Always loved her rings and jewelry -- just bursting with flashes of colour. Always cheerful, and that smile of hers! I will miss her. Gone too soon. My condolences to her family and friends at this time of loss..

I knew Sharon as a co-worker and a neighbour - I had seen her around the library and then was pleasantly surprised to discover that we lived on the same floor of Centennial House. We would commiserate about our non-air-conditioned apartments and unresponsive building managers, and we'd sometimes be on the same bus to campus together. One summer she watered our plants when we were out of town and when someone sent us a package while we were away, she offered to walk to the post office and pick it up for us! She was so kind and considerate - the best kind of neighbour. I will miss her and remember her warmly. My condolences to Sharon's family.

Sharon was a lovely person, and a night owl, like me. We were often the two last standing at Elborn and later, on Weldon mezzanine, when our work changed and moved to that location. We often had nice chats about music and theatre, and mystery bus tours, things that Sharon enjoyed.
We were both on the winning team for SET trivia this summer. and Sharon's knowledge of literature saved the day!
I will miss her company.

What a shock it was to see Sharon’s obituary in the paper today. I met Sharon many years ago at Fanshawe College in the Library Technician program. One summer during college we worked together in Goderich running a mobile library service and children’s programs to area camp grounds. After graduation we continued to live in London, in the downtown area, and I would often run into Sharon at the market, Victoria Park or the library. It was great to catch up and update each other on our latest trips around the world. My sincere condolences to Sharon’s family. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.

I had a lot of fun making chocolates with Sharon. She was so talented and had many varied interests. I also have a beautiful piece of needlework Sharon gave me with the inscription “ A true friend is a found treasure.” Her patience was incredible. Sharon was a good friend and will not be forgotten.
